Walt Disney Concert Hall

A few photos of the LA Symphony’s Walt Disney Concert Hall. It’s an iconic Frank Gehry building, and their free tours are highly recommended to all architecture nerds.

The rose-shaped fountain. According to legend, Gehry ordered hundreds of expensives Delft vases from the Netherlands. He didn't mention they would be shattered.
Originally, Gehry wanted to use limestone for the exterior.
Not a bad seat in the house, I'm told.

There’s a comment to be made about the power of music, when it is at its grandest. The story goes, that Lillian Disney was so moved by the symphony, that she decided they must have installations more befitting of their talents. Two hundred and seventy million dollars later, that is a tune to move us all.
