Matt & Talat

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

I’ve never really done any wedding photography, so I just did my best trying to capture moments. As far as posing goes, yeah, not sure about all that. I have to apologized to Talat and Korey (the girl doing T’s hair) for my tyrannical ways and just overall bossing around… must be how I react when I don’t know what I’m doing. I changed up the watermark/logo because they other one didn’t seem very wedding-ish. I felt like these photos called for something a bit classier.

Photo-wise, I didn’t have anything other than my SLR (which I almost didn’t bring. Too much space in the suitcase!) and natural light. That’s usually the best anyways, right? Plug in Photoshop, add some filters that look like what I’ve seen in wedding photos, and voila. Did you know that a photographer can get paid multiple thousands of dollars to shoot a single wedding?

I’m in the wrong business.

Random musical interlude

Recently I started catching a few episodes of “Rescue Me” on hulu, and I’m totally digging the opening credits song: C’mon, C’mon by The Von Bondies.

Just wanted to share that, plus a photo of T and me.

More from Ellijay, Georgia

Back to reality here in Phoenix, and I’m already missing the cabin life in Georgia. Just hanging out by the river, the fire pit, and the hot tub. Not the humidity though. Here are just a few other photos. Editing everything will probably take me till next year (that may or may not be a joke), but instead of waiting for that, I’ll just post ‘em little by little.

Matt and Brian trying to navigate the river. Check out the video below.

I really wish I was back there. Got to work to more bad news, as always. Rumors of layoffs running rampant, again. It’s so demoralizing after a while.

In other news, while I was at home in NC for a whole 36 hours, I found tons of old photos that I took for various projects back in that life where I was a bonafied photojournalism student. So look for those coming up soon. I really had some good stuff there, but it’ll take me a while to comb through that.

Wedding in the mountains

Live blogging it (sorta) from the Mountains of Georgia, during Matt and Talat’s wedding extravaganza bonanza. Photos are a bit contrast-y because I edited them on a laptop with a screen I’m not familiar with. Oh well, I’ll refine them once I get home.
